Your Role

Process
A Virtual Video Call or In-Person Visit for diagnosis would be held where you are asked to describe your condition. If necessary, you will be asked to provide an X-ray of your knee joint taken in a upright standing weight-bearing position. From the diagnosis, depending on the condition, the knee brace is then adjusted to suit your knee joint for correction. As the knee braces come in 3 sizes, in order to send the correct size, the circumference of your thigh 7 inches above your knee is needed.
Once the brace is received, you will be instructed on how to wear the brace, for how long, and what activities, workouts, exercises you need to be carrying out while wearing the brace. Maintaining an active lifestyle while wearing the knee brace is strongly recommended as this helps with the treatment process.
Upon continuous use of the knee brace, maintaining an active exercise routine, a follow-up is necessary every 2 months of use till the ending of the treatment. If necessary, you will be asked to provide another X-Ray in the same format as previous, for measurement of the correction progress. This may generally be asked for between the span of 4-6 months upon initial use depending upon the severity. X-Rays are to be provided only if you are asked for them.
Depending on the degree of deformity, a period of 1-2 years is needed with regular follow-ups for getting the expected results before one can start walking without the assistance of the knee brace. Continued physical activities and a healthy lifestyle, help in ensuring a faster recovery.
The brace can also be worn as a supportive brace even after the treatment has finished if ever it is felt wanted.
